Jeff Greilsheimer
Jeff focuses on complex corporate and commercial matters including litigation and arbitration, cross-border disputes, domestic and international insolvency, accounting malpractice, corporate governance disputes, securities litigation and real estate matters in New York state and federal courts.

Chambers & Partners recognized the HFK Litigation team in its inaugural edition of the New York regional spotlight, recognizing HFK “for its expertise in commercial litigation” and “burgeoning arbitration practice.”

Prior to joining HFK, Mr. Greilsheimer was a partner in a boutique New York law firm where much of his practice involved representing Latin American clients in U.S. litigation and arbitration. Those disputes involved complex cross-border contracts, failed acquisitions, franchise rights, contested ownership of media assets, mobile telephony, trade secret theft, copyright infringement, and partnership dissolutions.

Mr. Greilsheimer has extensive experience as foreign counsel in connection with applications for U.S. discovery in support of foreign litigation pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1782.

Mr. Greilsheimer’s first five years of practice were as an associate in the Business and Securities Litigation group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where much of his work has involved defending securities class action cases, claims against corporate directors and officers under Delaware law, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy cases and accounting malpractice.

He subsequently was with Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP for more than thirteen years, where he devoted much of his time to defending auditors in civil litigation and SEC enforcement actions. He also had a leading role in resolving more than $60 billion of claims filed by domestic and foreign affiliates in the liquidation of Lehman Brothers Inc., the U.S. broker-dealer.

Mr. Greilsheimer is currently studying Spanish and has frequently represented clients where much of the documentary evidence is in Spanish. He also chairs the Town of North Hempstead Community Development Agency that is responsible for urban renewal projects and anti-poverty efforts on the north shore of Long Island.
